"It's not the misfire the singles suggested, Acme.
Pleasant surprise tbh."
I finally listened to it. It really is a pleasant surprise. I feel relieved that I didn't make a huge mistake in importing the deluxe edition w/BluRay.

This has an aesthetic similarity to Arche but it’s just a much more aggressive album overall. Definitely not a bad album at all

Well...my hype for this has been reduced to a whimper. For people that know me they know how much that bums me out.
I'll listen when I get my copy, I can have complete faith in their live tour at least.

I was never really sure how they could follow up Arche, but from what I can tell, they just took the "let's bring back past influences to infuse into our current sound" elements of Arche and amplified them. I personally love the Vulgar - Marrow era, so I'm okay with a more stripped-down sound, but who knows. The singles didn't impress me much at first, but they've all grown on me. I guess we'll find out when my copy arrives (unless I lose patience and listen on Spotify first)
Also, at the very end, I think you meant to say "addition" instead of "edition."

Uroboros, DSS, and Arche are my holy trinity DEG albums, but I can't see this topping even Kisou through Marrow for me ever...at best, it's on par w/Macabre but that's not saying much cause that was their worst album at the time IMO.
Basically what I'm trying to say is that if you told me this was the GazettE, I would have that this would've been one of their best albums ever. For DEG's standards, this is not up to par w/the holy trinity nor most of their discography, but I still enjoyed it enough to not think it sucks.

I'm halfway through this now (just finished 'Aka' which was magnificent), and while it's definitely not as good as the last 3 so far, it's still quality. I feel like it's getting underrated by some of the fans just because of how bangin that trilogy was. Feeling a 3.5 at the moment but I'll spin it a fair bit more

Review was spot on.
I mean... I was kinda disappointed, honestly.
Maybe I went in with my expectations being too high, because the last three albums have been so fantastic, but I definitely think this review ran into everything I was thinking while spinning this.
maybe I just need to spend a little more time with it, but I'm not sure that will do it.

Dunno how you guys can start slapping on ratings so fast. I need a good couple weeks with an album. Even then, sometimes albums I didn't like at first can grow on me much later. What I heard on my way to work sounded great.

Yes this isn’t nearly as bad as everyone is saying
