No Excuses is a damn good song, but I agree with GraveCrosse's point on it, pretty repetitive. I find that I enjoy the acoustic version of it more. Good Review man. This Message Edited On 10.29.05

this a grand album, but definitly shouldn't be ones first with AiC. Nutshell and Rotten Apple are my favorite songs

This is probably my favorite studio album of theirs. There isn't a song I don't like. Nutshell is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard.

At first i didnt want to buy the ablum cuz it only has 7 songs, but I took the chance. If you have the same problem i did, just buy the damn thing, its worth every penny. I find Alice In Chains is really underated. Pearl Jam and Nirvana are really good but I find AIC is just as good in every way

Alice in chains, They Defy Grunge. Grunge was simplicity.. Nirvana stuff. Sound Garden Alice in Chains Both bands Defy that label. Yes they came from washington but They sound nothing near grunge.

This Album is very good. It was an experiment, Usualy Layne and Jerry would come in with a bunch of stuff. The time the J.O.F sessions came about they decided to let The other two members of the band have a little bit more say and controll of the session. This E.P.... I'd have to give it a Five out of Five. It's class.

Alice in chains was definately thumped in with the grunge movement because as you stated they were from the Seatle area in the early 90's, but these guys are more complicated then grunge music, Id consider them hard rock over grunge, and you can see the type of music the bands whos influence was primarily AIC, bands like Godsmack who all play heavier hard rock stuff.

I'll probably get this soon because i like their slower stuff more than their fast stuff. The vocals are simply amazing.

i really agree with your opinion on nutshell
although i really think the song gets even more depressing when you hear it on the unplugged album
great review

Good review, I'm buying this EP a.s.a.p.

Nutshell is easily the best song here, maybe the best ever AIC song?

i would say nutshell is their best soft song while would? would have to be their best heavy song. just check the vid where they perform it for the singles movie. kicks so much ass

Oh yeah, the Would? video rocks! But I still prefer Nutshell as a song. I don't know about Would? being the best heavy song. Top 5 easily, but you've got plenty of other songs as well...

Yeah this record is prolly their best outing. Pretty good job with the review, I agreed with 95% and it saves me the trouble of bothering with one for this.
