I keep coming back to this, might bump to a 4. I don't think there's any individual song I like as much the highlights of their first two albums (The Glass, Daughter, etc) but it's absurdly consistent.

The best part is that the band, while still standing in place, look much happier now playing live.

Good review. Weary means tired, wary means skeptical. The similar sounding leery also means skeptical which perhaps is why this word may be misused so frequently. Kinda crazy how the quintessential kings of modern pop-punk/easycore were led by someone who couldn't stand being a part of it.

I get it though. I remember watching an interview with them from 2011 and he was stoked about pop punk back then, though I think even at that point they just considered themselves punk/rock. But then you get pigeonholed in the pop-punk thing, and that label can feel limiting. Kinda like how a lot of metalcore guys claim they just play "metal"

Yeah man, but there are so many bands that are just aping this style these days. So many new pop-punk bands just try to sound like USAD.

Thanks for the “weary” thing, though it’s more a spelling error than it is confusing it with leery. I had the “wary” pronunciation in my head but I typed it as I heard it in my head if that makes sense. “Wear-y”
