Deicide is a great band, and they put out a great album.

he's blowing it off because the subtext to the way adolphcrist gave him criticism was "don't be excited, you're no good" like how a deadbeat dad talks down to his son becasue he doesn't want him to be better at football than he was

I actually dig Serpents and Once Upon the Cross and especially The Stench of Redemption more than the first 2 but they all slay.

I might like Once Upon the Cross better than Legion, but their s/t is the best thing theyve ever done imo. I actually havent jammed Serpents yet, maybe i should do that.

This album is alright, but fuck me in the ass if that isnt some of the coolest artwork youve ever seen.

I see your point about taking criticism even if it's condescended to you. just remember that this isn't a class and no one is getting graded here, no one is obligated to take criticism for any reason.

second, this kid never said he wanted criticsm; certain sput users assume that everyone who writes a review has implicityly asked for the communities criticism so they jump down new peoples throats every chance they get as if this is a website marketed to help people become better writers. well it isn't, never was, and never will be, it's a dweebish website for metalheads etc. like me, one that nobody gives a shit about besides the ever-dwindling number of frequent users, also like me.

last, how hard is it really to understand that people don't like being talked down to about something they've just created and are clearly excited about? if I build a birdhouse for the first time and want to show it to a master birdhouse-smith and he tells me that it's no good, has too many problems to count, gets snobish when I say that is not helpful, and responds with "stay bad I guess", well then how often am I likely to go back to that person even if there was an astute point or two made about the final product? if this kid never comes back it's not at all going to be hard to see why.
