"I can’t think of a more mainstream influenced metal review than this. Ever heard of Death, Demolition Hammer, Agalloch, Or Immortal? Branch out your interests into more lesser known metal sub genres and you’ll find that some of it is FAR better than almost every song on this album. Slipknot isn’t even close to being the best thrash metal band, much less the best metal band."

Slipknot are more br00tal than the list of recs provided... a list of bands that sound and are nothing like Slipknot

I love you Gonzo but Demo Hammer curves this album to the pavement. Regardless, yeah that post is cringeworthy.

it was sarcasm, calc lol. I couldn't possibly compare any of them. I mean, I absolutely love agalloch, but I'd never say they were better or worse, because they're completely different bands.

It wouldn't be so bad, but I don't once say this is the best and heaviest album of all-time lol

My sarcasm meter is eternally broken.

Speaking of this album, I never listen to it but Disasterpieces is a great show to watch.

Yeah, listening to Iowa now and it's pretty cool. I think these records are nice when you are in the mood but I wouldn't come back to it often tbh

Just can't really get into this one, this amount of anger with little to no respite doesn't do it for me. Dig "Left Behind" though.

Totally agree with ButtBoy and Thalassic here too, just because it's mainstream doesn't mean it's bad.

Their best, hands down.

Which means it's still a terrible album, by any standards.

If you can listen to Skin Ticket, Gently, or the title track and tell me they're terrible by any standards...then you clearly trollin'

Obviously… ;-)

By the way, I can and actually have listened to this album. But it gives me a headache, much like any other SlipKnot album.

I listen to the title track to relieve headaches honestly. It's cathartic as fuck

i remember reading that ross robinson broke his back doing motocross during the making of this record and only missed one day. he'd lay in the vocal booth while corey did his takes because he couldn't stand. now THAT'S metal.
