Side-effects from vaccinations ARE indeed real, and in the context of the song it's less of an anti-vax thing and more of a child not understanding why it has to suffer to beat the real suffering thing.
Imo that line stood out, but it comes from the perspective of an infant. So the line makes sense. I saw Pitchfork blow it out of proportion like critical thinking and skepticism is a bad thing.
