Sounds like you're on the right track with all that tbh - hopefully you'll leave a little room for the mesmeric passages like at the end of 'Sunday's Cool' and 'Love, I Swear It' too. The layering is so well developed in those sections.

thank you! yes, there definitely will still be time for parts like those, they're some of the most satisfying to get together. there should be more of a live feeling, too, as we've got two more official band members and will hopefully be getting a real proper drummer too!

Well I remember my first listen and I liked everything I'd heard so far but then the end of 'Sunday's Cool' locked in and I was 100% sure the album was going to be for me. It clinched the deal, you always need deal clincher moments ;)
Real drummers need constant feeding and a lot of reassurance though

fun fact, you can hear my friends playing Lego Star Wars faintly in the background of the outro of SC. I was using my friend's piano and they accidentally made their game a little too loud but I kept it in cause it felt homely in a way

yeah its hard - I live with quite conservative Christian parents and its been very restrictive growing up so my view has been coloured somewhat
