it's still got the glint of New Order hopefulness that JD lacked entirely - that's what makes it the perfect intro to this record, since the progression afterward shows them actually coming into their own & defining what N.O. actually was

"that's an expanded version of this yeah."

i wish it were as simple as that - the mix of Ceremony that's on there is kinda whack & they used the earlier (far inferior, imo) versions of Confusion & Temptation instead of the Substance versions

on the bright side i'd say that keeps this one essential

it wouldn't be as big a deal if it didn't mean the Substance versions of those tracks not being on Spotify altogether - Temptation '87 in particular is like top 3 New Order

edit: ok nevermind Temptation is at least up there via Trainspotting soundtrack, but I still have yet to find the updated Confusion

So very soon, I'll finally have an undergraduate degree in psychology, which is apparently the current degree with the highest unemployment rate in Canada, and I somehow doubt my English minor is going to help much ("I don't always talk to English graduates, but when I do...I tell them I want large fries." Oh, snap!), and I think about what if? What if I didn't drop business in first year because I didn't bother studying? And I think about what if? What if I think I didn't drop math in second year for the same reason? I'd probably have a nice, respectable position as an accountant somewhere raking in $70,000 a year. Then I think about my girl problems and that's a whole nother level of clusterfuck that I don't want to touch because there's only so much Prozac your body can take before you stop being sad and just stop being, you know? Then something like "Blue Monday" comes on shuffle when I accidentally drop my Ipod and none of that matters.

The b-side? The b-side is the a-side without the classic drum intro.

A-

Whenever I hear temptation, I immediately think of Trainspotting.
