I agree, OTM is their peak.
7 is their most dynamic record though, I find it difficult to compare it with the rest.
I love to shovel snow while listening to this one.

lol the band is far too banal to command majesty across any whole album - their drippy cliches just don't have the weight for it (OTM starts off strong, but throttles itself badly pushing for this). this does much better pushing for murk + mystique, and it's their only alb with dynamic songwriting from end to end
+ being their first album with competent percussion helps a ton

I'm not a muso, and I've never written a song in my life. I appreciate music for the way it makes me feel. OTM makes me feel like I've taken MDMA when I haven't. 7 is somewhat of a chore to listen to now (Drunk In LA, Woo, Dark Spring, and maybe Dive aside).
So yeah, not sure about the songwriting and percussion, but I don't feel much murk or mystique.
