These guys have the talent and tools to really make an excellent album...they just don't really utilize them other than Lajon

Lajon and his backing band.

"Add to that some truly time relevant lyricism and an emotive range that capitulated the very essence of a band doing everything right (and then some)."
I'm not totally sure what you're attempting to say here, but "capitulate" is definitely not the word you were looking for.

It definitely is, maybe I should use some words with a few less synonyms, I mean it in a yielded sense.

Not their greatest but certainly not their worst release - review is way too harsh IMO. Production lets it down immensely.

You say this like it's a bad thing

"These guys have the talent and tools to really make an excellent album...they just don't really utilize them other than Lajon"
Precisely this. it's as if they settle on every first idea that pops into their heads and never refine anything to try and make it more interesting/captivating. "yeah that riff is pretty sweet, let's build the entire song around it. I'll add a half-dec chorus to it. insta-banger"

Risen, Moments, Dirty, Medicated, and the Truth are all awesome songs. The rest of the album is decent too. This is definitely not a poor album. I'd say more like a 3-3.5. Just my opinion though.

It's far from perfect, but I prefer AISIW to Kill The Flaw, Cold Day Memory, and VII. Of their stuff made in the past 10 years, it's up there with Blackout as the best. For me it's only their 4th worst album, or 8th best--however you want to look at it.
I don't really anticipate anything amazing from these guys ever again, but I'm okay with that. Pump out average albums every year for all I care, as long as it gives them an excuse to tour and play the classics.

Man I miss the days of Black Out The Sun and Cold Day Memory, those were good records.

I strongly prefer their more melodic work. Cold Day Memory is probably my favorite overall from them. All of their albums have a few gems though. Except this one. None of these stuck with me.

We're all really impressed by your "I'm too cool for this music" hot take. The only thing more obnoxious is your seemingly tenuous grasp of the English language. The attempt here to weave song titles into the review range from awkwardly forced (life deceives you) to downright atrocious (descend is a verb, not a noun). Meanwhile, I'm not sure what you think capitulated means, but your usage is misguided at best.
As for the album, Sevendust are not breaking new ground here. Instead, they're doing what they do best (melodic metal with powerful vocals, intense riffs, and catchy hooks), and they're doing it better than they've done in some time.
