I’d rather stomp on my balls while wearing soccer cleats than listen to this again.

How do you have the flexibility to even do that

80 % of the youtube and Facebook comments have been unanimously positive and supportive actually. It’s the 20% that tries to be edgy and clever with hate making the same cliche comments over and over. Most people take this album for what it is, which is a new side of UO with some familiar aspects remaining. It’s been 10 years since this lineup released anything and change was inevitable and it sounds great. People that wanted the same sound in 2018 were fooling themselves. Also it’s not hard to see when they’re going to have much bigger crowds around the world because they’re reaching a lot more people with the new more accessible sound. Good for them.

I think it’s bizarre how things can change so drastically over time

Listening to this now. So far, not great. I'm not sure if I can stomach the whole thing either.

that in motion chorus is so fucking great
I think once people accept that so Much time has passed and UO was literally trying to make something new for their sound, this will get the appreciation it deserves.

I respect their decision to strive for a new sound, but that doesn't mean I'll like it
|
| |
I think people don’t like it because it’s so sub-par compared to their previous work.

Who was Underoath making an album for? They said they didn't want to say "it's not Underoath enough" when writing & approving songs for the new album. Then why even bring Underoath back? Continue your crappy side projects that no one cares about if you're tired of good music. Otherwise, Underoath should be Underoath.
And to the people who defend this terrible album on Youtube & whatnot, this ISN'T evolution. This is a really basic, really cookie cutter sounding album that is 10 steps back & not 1 step forward.
