Decided to give this a listen. It's pretty compositionally mediocre and some of the guest appearances just completely overshadow her. Some of this album could have easily appeared on Culture II and while Invasion of Privacy is nowhere near as bad, it doesn't do it any favors.

I think I like cardi’s voice but not much else. It’s a little livelier than Culture and stuff but I basically chalk up my opinion of both works to the same elements—even “Bodak yellow” is too “groovy,” doesn’t require a personality standing up perpendicular to the beat but someone that flows within it, or something. I.e. it’s boring...but I think it’s worth saying that I’d rather it be Cardi than like 6ix9ine or xxxtentacion lol

Yeah they suck, and there’s a part of me that really gets pissed when anyone (Fantanoheads?) absolves them of the responsibility of having good lyrics and flow but lords it over Cardi or someone else that is not a man. Total double standard

Then again certain influential websites feel as if they are shoehorning Cardi into a great artistic and dare I say Political tradition that it’s hard not to react to

As Aristotle insisted, the correct position is right in the middle. This is Fine to me, maybe closer to bad than good

I don't watch his videos very often but I recall him not liking XXXTentacion or 6ix9ine.

Also, good lyricism (you know, the entire point of this genre) has not been a part of mainstream rap for a long time so it's not surprising to me.

Someone explain the site to me again? I feel like there is a flawed, yet unique perspective to be gained here.

This stuff just gets hyped up for me every time and every time it feels like the same mainstream bullshit. Nothing new, nothing special, just a bland entry into music that everyone will forget soon enough

I can’t tell if she’s the worst good artist or the best mediocre artist I’ve ever heard.

That is a modest benchmark if I've ever seen one.
