Stream on The Independent in the UK anyway. WHy is the production so crap AGAIN? they got it perfect on TGG and clearly that was a production fluke

This isn't their TDAG by a long shot (that was TGG duh) but it's still brilliant

I haven't listened to this band at all but I'm wondering how 'pop punk' they are. Hopefully they aren't too poppy. Gonna check

this album and the previous one to a lesser extent are somewhat alternative rock but all the shit before that is pretty much straight warped tour pop punk. still GOAT tho

The production on this is way worse than NCTH. It's a good album. Doesn't have anything nearly as impactful I Don't Like Who I Was Then or Cardinals, but then again this is closer to alt-rock than the pop-punk of their previous album. And although they're good at alt-rock, they're great at pop-punk.

The Pyramids of Salt chorus is so good, and that chord change in the second verse is such a sweet touch.

It's considerably more consistent than NCTH on first listen but nothing is really sticking. Shame =[

The production album sounds a bit like that Rush album they accidentally compressed the hell out of then lost the original masters

From the singles I'm with you scoot. The whole theatrical approach they've grown into sounds big and bold but muddled down, Greatest Generation is def their best, best blend of riffs, vocal melodies and the energy and emotion is just as on par with their more theatrical tunes since.

Album Rating: 3.5
The whole theatrical approach works when it hits like an atom bomb, but when it doesn't, it makes the record feel bloated. And it's only forty-something minutes long. Great record but on par with the rest of their catalogue. Definitely not their TDAG. Don't think they're capable of such a thing.
