This review is a tease since the album isn't even out yet ;) When did this site start allowing reviews to be published pre album release date?
That title track you posted the YouTube video is excellent! Has a bit of a Musk Ox sound to it with those strings but those vocals are really an amazing addition. Did you get a chance to check the guitarist's other project, Wolcensmen? It sounds very similar to this, a bit more "epic" and less sombre as the title track from this.
Something tells me you'll love this Atari, so if you have a chance to check it out:

the ultimate tease
@Dungeon, it's allowed ;] we don't technically have to wait for a stream if we have a promo. keep in mind I did post in on April 1st too, which may or may not have been intentional. thanks for the reminder for Wolcensmen, I'll check it out!

cheers fellas!
glad y'all seem to like what you're hearing so far. the title track (which is already released) is still one of the strongest songs, but the whole thing is pretty outstanding

Oh gee, another black metal band "experimenting" by going fully folk. Who would have thought??
I always found their black metal stuff to be boring, so maybe ill like this more.

Dude i'm motherfucking STOKED on this. Find it odd you call them "aggressive black metal" in reference to prior works but it's w/e. New Winterfylleth is always a good thing.

I didn't technically call them that, but don't think it would be that odd if I did lol. they've always had an epic sound and all their albums have had a certain level of aggression up until this point
fwiw I did change out "aggression" for "gigantic riffs" in the third paragraph...less repetitive that way anyways ;]

"giant walls of angry black metal"
Not aggressive but still, Winterfylleth sounded angry to you? You must really, really not listen to angry music at all then. I'm not trying to rip you apart or anything, just find this an incredibly odd way to describe Winterfylleth.

Well I find you finding it odd to be odd
Really though.. I don’t think intense, aggressive or angry etc. are inaccurate ways to describe the band’s black metal parts. Maybe passionate or epic would work better (?) but there’s no denying the band write some loud black metal built largely around aggression!

Even there more "aggressive" parts have always felt rather tame to me, almost a bit hypnotic some times. They never brought to mind anger for me at all. I mean, I guess if Winterfylleth is the type of band that makes you want to punch walls then that's you and not me lmao.

You’re putting words in my mouth :3
Made a change but I still think you’re exaggerating quite a bit lol

been jamming the three tracks on spotify non stop since this morning. Damn, I really itchy for a new good album in this genre.
The last absolute banger was Musk Ox, and that's quite a few years ago now.
