Oh hai...what a pleasant surprise

Do you guys think it's good or bad that my 14 year old son's favorite album is sum of all fears?

Sum Of All Fears Slex...let it in.

new song Fentanyl is incredible...slight departure

Nick might just have to figure out a way to deal with stardom at some point. I dont think he can keep creating and avoid it entirely.

Sum of all fears is 33 diverse tracks of varying quality in terms of production. It's got some gems, great lyrics and a lot of DIY rawness.

It's crazy your son loves it, it's good that he isn't spinning trap. You should ask him why he likes it so much, then create him a sput account, and we can all rec him releases to educate him on music.

Slex...smh. I would think you of all people could appreciate the genius delivery of Nick H

Yes Sloth there's a little bit of variance in quality but there's like 20 stone cold bangers.

I think he’s a meh singer, it’s the fact that he’s an idiot jackass in real life that irks me

new song is actually pretty solid, will have to give it a few more spins but maybe the new album will be better than this

Separate the art from the person man. Look at some of your recent faves. Strong vocals are not something they share. The fact that he is such a deeply flawed human is part of the charm honestly.

Worth trying one of their EPs just because this album is fairly distinct in sound. But if you're in general not a fan of Nick or his songwriting, I don't think you'll get much out of it, unfortunately. What don't you like, friend?

His actual delivery just sounds really awkward and tuneless in a really unpleasant way to me
The new single is way better than anything I heard here tho

Try the two tracks from Thanks. Sorry. Sure I recommend. If those dont click abandon ship.

I have certainly encountered plenty of people who legitimately hate this guy.

No, it is NOT, you are WRONG. >:[ (No, I understand -- not really clicking with me, but it has two or three incredible songs and it's definitely less... jarring(?) than this one; a bit more accessible, too, in a good way. That said, sounds too smoothed out to me. Sellout and Alligator Skin Boots both lack the character of their earlier versions, and Scarecrow sounds like freaking Nothing Else Matters now.)

Mccafferty through a blender pleasant enough but most of what makes them truly great is absent
