Album Rating: 5.0
Well, if you read the lyrics to each song, most of them describe a setting in which the band takes a nostalgic look at their past. Yes, it is my interpretation of the lyrics, but that doesn't mean it's not possible. Love, loss, and heartbreak are part of day to day life. It's not incorrect to objectively state that these songs are used in the context of nostalgia. It may be taking liberty in saying so, but again, not necessarily wrong. I'm sure Yellowcard has suffered those things prior to reaching stardom. Ocean Avenue is an actual place in the bands hometown of Jacksonville. The album title suggest that the group is reflecting on their time in Jacksonville, but highlights Ocean Avenue as an important destination. Generally speaking, I would assume Ocean Avenue *could* be interpreted as an ode to their time living there.
