I kinda wanna check this guys other stuff, does any of it sound more like normal music?

Nothing he's ever made sounds normal. This and Crow are his normal-est albums.

Phil's always had this weird, slightly off way of writing music. Lost Wisdom and Dawn are probably the most "musical" Mount Eerie albums.

on the contrary i'd argue they're his least musical, and are more bare-bones than this and Crow.

Phil's always been insanely musical that it's almost weird hearing him just playing plain acoustic stuff with no insane embellishment and ingenious instrumental layering

i dont buy that these two records are "less musical", which so many ppl online seem to think. esp not this one with all its weird decisions. also nothing's ever gonna strike me down like that title track which is a pop song lol

'Less' musical? I would say yes, if the comparison is to his other works. There's definitely music on crow, it's just far more stripped back. Certainly an album like sauna has much more going on than crow in terms of music. Haven't heard this one yet

I really don’t know how some music can be less “musical” than other music. Music is music.

I know what most people mean (some have however stupidly tried to claim that Crow isn't music) but I disagree with the terminology.
