yeah that part threw me off hahah. played this in the car ride home at night and a friend 3 songs in told me to turn it off cuz it was too sad and he was on an edible. overall this is rly good, gonna need another listen but it feels a bit stuck. prob a hard 4

the line, "if they knew that when you went through my mind, i'm full of the love that illuminated our house for all those years", makes me really quite happy. and about their dancing child. obviously the "brilliance you would have deepened" part is tinged with a deep sadness, but also there's something so beautiful about him singing about genevieve's legacy. the album's about him, but it celebrates her in a nice way.

hey thanks man, digging your analysis on this album too. seems to be a lot less talk about this one than Crow had when it first dropped, I guess the novelty wore off for some people
