Answering Demon (since i recd you this one a few months ago) you ll get more the atmo/post vibe but also a lot of sludge and hardcore on this...it has "multimetal" drive and not that onesided doom you want to avoid. Now be a good fella and jump on it with moderate hype

First two tracks are god-level, really enjoyed this.
One little criticism though... not sure if they may have overdone the eclectic mix of styles slightly, it's like they had a hundred ideas & wanted to fit them all into the modest run-time. They either could've fleshed out these ideas a little more with & made a 70 minute album, or just saved some of them for future endeavours.
Is it me or do the genre tags not really do the album justice? I'm not sure what their EP was like but this often has a blackened death sort of vibe whereas the doom isn't exactly prominent. I can hear the post metal influence, but again putting Cult of Luna in the similar artists is a little misleading, they lean more on the hardcore side of that particular spectrum, for me.

yap I voted for B/DM and Hardcore, or one of those next to sludge and postmetal would be much more accurate. As to the band tags CoL does not make it fair, but the combination of all bands (like Converge etc..) makes some sense. I could agree with the "too much all round" critique, but for me the re-listening value and the growing of all tracks, surpassed it, mainly because is all-round but really cohesive and connected in the mix.
Plus my friend, the two first tracks are indeed amazing but, for me, the best tracks on this is Retch and Of Flesh Weaker Than Ash. Super glad you enjoyed it!
