This just outlined for me everything I dislike about post-hardcore in its current state. I also don't find his performance good whatsoever, it's delivered in such an obnoxious manner to me.

The obnoxious nature of Jonny is just what he has vocally evolved into. It wasn't quite like this in DGD, but everything beyond that sort of becomes you either love it or hate it. I love his vocal style and lyricism despite him being somewhat of a cunt. I also agree with the criticism about the scene, yet I don't feel this does represent the scene. There are some evident influences (I think Jonny has been listening to a bit too much Tyler Carter), but it seems more experimental and less aimlessly poppy than most post-hardcore releases of late.

Agree to disagree then my man. As someone detached from his personal life and those exploits, his character didn't factor into my rating, I based it purely off of the style he employed, just for clarification.

Gotta slap a 2.5 on this. I think if I heard this like 3 or 4 years ago I probably would've been so offended I'd 1.5 this to hell.
However, it's got some catchy melodies and there's some new things happening on it (i.e. trap hi-hats plus strumming guitars) so 2.5 it is.
