I listened to a good number of tracks from reach release, and yeah, nothing. Tastes always fluctuate though, so I’ll revisit this in a year or two.

Listening to this for an album exchange, I am very pleasantly surprised. It's how I expected it to be but also not at the same time.

Lol idk which is which tbh I'd say start with the 2011 version if ur in it for a full album experience and maybe 2018 if ur more just looking for playlistable tunes
I am also honor bound to say that how to leave town is better than either and you should just listen to that instead

i much prefer the 2018 version. the production improvement really elevated those songs for me

"2011 version if ur in it for a full album experience and maybe 2018 if ur more just looking for playlistable tunes"
this is the perfect take. 2018 version offered some valuable character development, hit up a well-earned wider audience, and affirmed everything that was special about the original in a way that proved pretty clearly how integral the crusty lofi pathosscuzz was to the full experience
prefer 2018 for the sole version that the new version of Famous Prophets smokes this - otherwise hard to argue its case

Agreed with Pangea, the improved production just made it even better

2018 cute thing absolutely demolishes 2011 and I prefer new bodys too. Both are 3.5s tho, probably slightly underrating something somewhere or overassociatng with the not very good place I was in when I first got into CSH but also some of the longer tracks hang together a tiny bit tenuously at points

Ok but have you considered that the quiet/loud doo doo doo part is quiet/louder on 2018

only songs from the 2018 version that are better are High to Death and Prophets, and the latter was already a top 15 csh tune

yeah this became /mu/core almost instantly way back when it dropped so I can see that being the case for RYM but I never understood why it didn't gain that much traction here, guess a sowing 5 was much needed

jam all the pre matador stuff save for the numbered albums, Nervous Young Man is still his greatest achievement

"this is the best version of the album"
Nah but glad you like it!

The only two songs I’ve heard from this are the opener and Bodys; strongly prefer 2018 in both cases
