Just heard Grip Shoes, and I thought it sounded dope. Reminds me of a calmer Dance Gavin Dance.

Pretty good. The singles over hyped me a bit and it does have some very homogeneous moments, but I had a lot of fun with this one. I'll check their debut later.

I agree with this review. I miss what Good Tiger was in their first album. Nice to see that they are achieving their own sound, but that being said, I miss part of the "heaviness" that was in the previous release.

Ugh. So I'd never, ever heard of these guys several years ago. Then, right before August Burns Red and Between the Buried and Me's sets comes an opener I'd never heard of: Good Tiger.

But they come out, and holy shit, there's Alex fucking Rudinger. I have a drum skin signed by him from a Faceless show. I'm confused. Then walks in Elliot Coleman, who I thought disappeared after his short stint with Tesseract. But I'd been jamming that bizarre little one-off he did as Zelliack and loved his voice from his Haunted Shores contributions.

The show had piss-poor sound and I couldn't really tell what I was listening to. It was a bit disappointing.

Since then I'd heard a few studio tracks and liked them quite a bit more. Then this album starts getting marketed. I listened to Blueshift, which is INCREDIBLE, and decided to wait until the release.

Sitar put it best when he said it was stuck in a mid-tempo marsh. I put this baby on for my commute home. I can't tell you a single song or recall a single melody for you. Blueshift is incredible. Imagine if the rest of the album had that sort of immediacy, that catchiness.

I'm not sure what it is. Their guitarist are talented, their drummer is a joy, and Elliot could sing about anything and I'd be enthralled.

So why did they release an album of b-sides? Every song is the same flavor. They passed me by without notice. Except for Blueshift. What happened?!

Again, they're all such talented guys. It just comes down to the sound they should be going for if they're all to play together. We need a little more immediacy, some stronger vocal hooks (those choruses were just more verses...), and some heaviness added back in. I guess I just don't know who they're catering to with this one.

i kind of prefer this to their debut, suppose that's probably down to the fact this sounds more like DGD

i feel the same way, Nomos. for what is basically a pop album, this really lacks immediacy

Dude has a really nice voice too. Is he the guy who did the vocals for Of Man Not Of Machine?
