Dafuq is swancore?

Also, I'm definitely not digging this as much as A Head Full of Moonlight. That album could rock the fuck out when it needed to. This one seems stuck in a midtempo marsh.

"Dafuq is swancore?"

basically a sect of post-hardcore tinged with quirky and "progressive" tendencies. stuff like stolas, hail the sun, eidola, etc...

No song on this album reaches the rocking out level of the debut, unfortunately

Not even Salt of the Earth, that doesn't hold a candle to Snake Oil

Salt of the Earth is definitely the best song on here imo, unfortunately, like Circa Survive, i don't think i'm going to be coming back to this a whole lot, some of it kinda turned into background sounds too

Salt of the Earth has a nice riff, but it doesn't rock out the way that Snake Oil did. Dez and Jo just generally seem overly subdued on this. I like nothing more than interlocking guitar riffs and harmonies, and this album isn't delivering...

Who did scream vocals on Snake Oil btw? that might be what this new album is lacking (i know screams arent on every track on debut)

Elliot does pretty good harshes, which you wouldn't expect based on his singing voice. Check out the Haunted Shores songs he collaborated on with Mark Holcomb.

I’m really disappointed on their closing track for this album. On their debut, they really finished out the album with the banger ‘67 Pontiac Firebird. A let down in comparison
