the one thing i havent liked about the addition of the band to son lux's sound is that they have progressively sweetened and processed the bubblegum cinematic orchestral peaks to a point that they really skirt the line between spectacle and cringe. From what I've heard of this so far they seem to be refining themselves a little bit and reaching back into Lott's darker pits of inspiration again. I always find him to be at his best when he keeps things more minimal, nuanced, and production focal as on display more and more the further you go back in his discog. and at his worst when he's going childrens choire of mt. seymour empowerment orchestra theatre ...

i rarely do top song lists, but You Don't Own Me (the You Don't Know Me brass remix), Lost It To Trying, Dream State, Aquatic, Now I Want, Leave the Riches, Plan the Escape would be up there. gotta think a little harder, but these are the first that come to mind
