I stood in line for hours to get the box set. Hearing this particular album on vinyl in my room is something else. The cups clanking, the chatter in the background, jeff seemingly having a conversation with you in between songs-for a moment i imagine he’s still with us. His life to me can be summed up by a famous quote from Hunter S. Thompson “too weird to live, too rare to die”. It’s strange mourning the death of a man that I not only never knew, but who also died only months into my own life. Though, here I am at 3:30 am feeling his loss and the loss of others-yet sensing the indelible bend his matter left in space time. I feel more than just the music permeating my soul when I hear this, I feel a presence.
