A 3.5????????? Perhaps you should relisten to this album one more time, my friend. And check out the previous two as well. They are amazing too!

I might be reaching here or stating something obvious everyone's already figured out, but do you think that this piece of lyrics:
"his contribution cannot be in vain"
and
"Let us not be borne away, a mass of black shapes around a grave."
is a reference to the state of modern art? That the contribution of someone like David Caspar Friedrich cannot be in vain and we shouldn't let art remain some banal, bunch of boring shapes people pretend have 'meaning'.

Was just thinking back to how much fun I had working with these boys on this record. Learned a lot, lots of late nights & miller high life, LOUD at all times. Nick, the main vocalist, just hung out in my (at the time) microscopically small control room while the other dudes live-tracked the instrumentals and he would explain some of the lyrics and theme shit as it was happening (and we would just chat for ages - we ended up playing in a band for a few years right after LOL). The truest of band-friends all around.

I'm sure that was a great experience. I'm just sad that that's probably the last we'll hear from them :')
