Yeah in studio I don't really care for it but they did a great version on Blitz 5 Days, got some serious bite plus a brlliant atmosphere which you can't really find anywhere else: https://youtu.be/8Brh7JgjhQQ?t=16m5s

The new remastered blood stain child album will surely be better than this. KiKi and Ryo are returning back to the band to record with them on the huge album. Just letting the fans know. ;) (I think it's gonna rock)

I get so lost reading conversations about the best versions of various DEG tracks haha. This is the only band I have seen this happen for.

Hahah yeah there's so many lives, resulting in multiple versions of almost every song in their discography. Especally for songs like Empire and Different Sense which have 6-9 versions.

Seeing that 2.0 rating for Dir En Grey fucking sucks. The worst part is I believe you.

At least it's for a best of, if it was for the new album that would be disaster.

2 is harsh, but best of compilations are weird to rate most of the time, anyway. I can see this working very well for a newcomer.

Yeah I have always found best of's pointless minus very few. This on paper could have been one of those cases but...evidently not. I wouldn't even rec a newcomer this, I'd just give them Uroboros Remastered or Arche.

It's much better than the typical cash grab greatest hits, but the main issue is we aren't the target audience for it outside the remakes and doc.

We aren't part of the target auidence true however having the 'remastered' not being that much of a difference, using the original Uroboros instead of the Remaster and the bad production on the remakes it's easy to criticise without that fact. The documentary could have justified its existance by itself for westerners but no subs soooo get fucked western market.

Yeah, the release is certainly marred by questionable decisions, but overall it does have a great condensed view on their evolution and will hopefully steer some people into the direction of the full albums.

Yeah, it gets the focus of evolution right for sure. But at this point, what's the point in this type of release if it doesn't offer up a legitimate level of incentive? It's like when I reviewed Rammstein's "Made in Germany," crap compilation, but he second disc is fantastic.

The problem with this isn't the music; it speaks for itself. The problem with this is that it fails to live up to what the incentives supposedly offer.

After some soul searching Mode Vulgar is my fav Mode so far, or as good as Mode Uroboros.

New one, but I like to call the version on Mode Vulgar the 'bass booster' version and it's amazing. One of the best versions of the song for me.
