I'd like them to move back away from this style, where the guitar is more in the foreground. They're not really great riff-writers to begin with and I can't say I'm a huge fan of the guitar tone on the last two albums.

agreed. they're much better at the subtle tremolo riffs in the background

then again they killed it with those staccato riffs in LMHSYF

Yeah, I honestly think they peaked with that and Oath Bound.

Like, surprisingly amateur decisions were made that don’t make sense.

Precisely how I feel about most of the albums I've listened to by these guys.

true, but then, those riffs were always complimentary pieces to excellent synth melodies

i think the guitar tone is really unfitting on this album, it's really obtrusive to the atmosphere

that said, it's the first time to memory they haven't changed the guitar tone from one album to the next

Stronghold broskis

also this is a huge grower. even Silvertine is growing on me despite that blatant Caradhras ripoff horn melody

Oh, somebody used their EQs too much. I hate sound of this album, i cant listen it on any of my headphones, too much presence for me. It is sad, i like the ideas on this one...

Kudos to who wrote this. Production isn't something that normally gets under my skin, but in the case of this album it was glaringly poor.

I am actually digging this a bit. I sympathize with the complaints about production, but I still think this album is good otherwise.
