Dang you're right. My friend told me they were on IG live yesterday and previewed a part of the new song, but then I couldn't find it when I checked way later. It's on its way I guess.

Haha you sound like my buddy. Me personally, I looped these guys almost exclusively for 3 months, and had to take a break just to not make myself sick of it to be safe. Listening to a lot of other stuff now trying to not gravitate back to them, but it's hard.

that's what I like to hear

Ha! You've certainly been repping it hard enough. Every once in a while I'll see this pop up on my discussions and think, "oh yeah that exists". And now it's happened enough for me to think I should jam it. So good job! :]

The Mara Effect Pt 3 sounds like a pastiche of early TesseracT in a good way.

The one interview with Courtney that I listened to, she said she's obsessed with Tesseract. Personally I think they're rather different but I see the influence.
|
| |
Yeah I think the influence is most apparent on the Maras. But I think it's done well because the vocals are really focused, and while the use of that trademark TesseracT delay/reverb lead guitar sound and the slow groovy riffs is a little derivative it sounds more like a lost TessseracT song than a direct ripoff of an existing song.

I never fully got into Tesseract although I saw them live and they put on a hell of a show. I find the vocals on this to be 100x better though for my taste, so much more emotion

Maybe revisit One and Altered State. Courtney's clean vocals are a dead ringer for Ashe's at certain points and the harshes are pretty remniscent of Tompkins'.

I'm a fan of Tompkins on Skyharbour but I don't really see comparison. I should re-jam the first 2 Tesseracts but for whatever reason I never connected with it, yet this band is my spirit animal haha.

Out of curiosity, did you listen to those before or after you'd heard this? It'd be interesting to see if this provides some sort of gateway into appreciating those albums if you were to revisit them after connecting with this or if you still feel indifferent about them.

I heard Tesseract way before this. Although I was already a fan of IWABO which is kinda similar to this in some aspects. I also found the lyrics here way more alluring that Tesseract's, theirs just kind of left me cold.

I have to agree, I don't like Tesseract that much myself, but I enjoy this very very much. I refer to Tesseract as the best boring music out there atm if that makes sense.
So I do like the Tesseract thing Spiribox does better than Tesseract + they do add their own touch to this.
I would love to love Tesseract, but they just have so many songs that are just samey chuggy collections of riffs with the atmosphere. That's not enough to get me

Agreed fully, but like I said, Tesseract live was awesome I'm just not that into them. This band on the other hand bangs unbelievably hard and I would kill to see them live. I hope the issues with the new EP get resolved soon and we actually get to hear it.
