Yeah, it's really disappointing after TSoC.

I think i get this album now,

The Shape of Color = Summer/Daytime album

The Way Forward = Winter/Nighttime album

nonetheless, there is some really sexy moments on this album, its more relaxing to listen to than TSoC, which is good and bad, depending on situation/mood and there just isnt as much attention grabbing moments on this album, which is a blessing and a curse

That's an interesting thought. Based only on this, I'd have chosen TWF over TSoC in a heartbeat, since I prefer night/dark stuff. But I find the middle of the album (tracks 3,4,5) awfully boring unfortunately. And while the rest are okay, they still got nothing on TSoC.

I'd definitely go for the darker sound (or "Nighttime," as previously wrote by Tundra), but this is just boring for me musically. Which wouldn't be a problem if there was a nice atmosphere. Oh, well, fingers crossed for the next one.

Guess I'll have to set a reminder for December to listen to this again. It sort of was in one ear and out the other the couple times I spun it, but it definitely was not during late winter hours I can say that.

This album grew on me pretty hard after seeing him live (he's fantastic). Belvedere is a really cool song.

Nah I guess I was wrong with the whole nighttime/winter thing, I prefer to listen to this in the summertime over winter

Does he make winter music? His instrumental stuff is perfect for a summer morning.

Nah not really, pretty much all his riffs are bright and vibrant, suits summer and sunny days mostly for sure

This album has really grown on me. It's just as good as TSoC in my opinion.

It's pretty surprising how bland and forgettable this is when compared to the rest of Intervals' material and also more surprising since it is very similar in style to The Shape of Colour. But that album has a kinetic energy and hooks all over the place. This just kind of happens.

I'm excited to see what Aaron does next on a new effort, this is around 2 years old now so must not be too long before a new album!
