and i think that not recognizing that possibility in myself would kind of be a form of wilful ignorance that would lead me to miss out on some really great things

I get that yea and maybe it's more of a subconscious thing that im not noticing. Is that the fault of the listener though? or is it moreso due to society tagging such media as "queer media"? and to be honest I never considered anime to be a "queer" thing, but I get your point.

well exactly, its not a queer thing. and no i dont think its the listeners fault unless the labelling and alienation is self-inflicted. the societal aspect is what im lookin at for the most part too.

gotcha yea in that sense this is definitely a really interesting look into society's views on what "normal" people should be able to relate to, and in a way it proves society wrong by being so so specific yet also universal. cool insight and although it wont change my rating it definitely makes me appreciate the album's goals a bit more

thank you for paraphrasing that nicely for me haha. i have a tendency to express myself in a very longhand manner. have to get the thought juice stirring by just starting to type my thoughts out and just ride the train until i feel like i've over-explained myself into complete annihilation. but yeah thats pretty much what i'm getting at. this review helped me connect some dots there and it really did make the album a lot more enjoyable for me upon that concurrent listen. i bumped my rating up 0.5 for now and am interested to listen more with this new angle.

i think it was a good choice, this angle was bound to attract a few labels, 'pretentious' likely appeared at least twice in the last 5 comments but who cares, this got me thinking and talking more than most reviews on here and it made me appreciate the album more

A solid 4,5 for me.

This album is the bright side of Obsidian. The mood of the songs is happy, carefree, alive.

Very good music to have a walk on the beach with a cool breeze.

I really love Obsidian, It was easily one of my best album of 2013. Now, I love Romaplasm.
