Med is like a girl in that way. :p
You're still yet to justify your liking of Van Halen.
Van Halen. David Lee Roth years. Albums speak for themselves. Especially I, II, Fair Warning, and Diver Down. These were fun, hard rocking, down and dirty records. Eddie was great, Dave, ultimate showman, Alex and Mike like thunder. Whole other deal then this crap. Now if you want to talk Van HaGar, that's a different story. I might even prefer this crap....This Message Edited On 06.12.06

I don't have any real grievances with the writing of this review really. Its just I felt that it was so blatantly biased its hard to see it as useful, ie it won't help a pop rock fan, as like many have said Bon Jovi is for hair metal , pretty ok.

you wrote a good review, the one bad point however is you spent more time blamming the album than anything else. Personally I like to play Devils advocate when thinking up reviews to albums i dislike, point out the good points as equally as the bad points then blam it right at the end, thats just me though. I really like this album. I prefer Have a nice day, but loads of these songs are just great radio-friendly rock song, the riff to You Give Love a Bad Name is great. a true air guitar moment.

But this wasnt reviewed in the way it was.... Simple 80's c*ck rock fun. Obviously not a fan of the 80's era
My mom would cry blashphomy.

I agree this album is pretty bad, the only O.K. song is you give love a bad name.

I don't really understand how anybody can dislike Bon Jovi. They're a band where the
normal standards of quality or innovation don't really apply. Sure they're derivative,
but who cares? It's really pleasurable to listen to.

How is this featured? The opening sentence makes me wanna vomit.

As soon as I saw the rating my only response was "Your A Monster!"
EDIT: Hey guys, why are you negging my review? It's well written. You don't have to agree with it, but jeez. It's just my second and it's not bad at all! And it's the "Featured Review". Thanks to those who have left kind words. I'll keep trying my best....
In the sense of a conventional review it's pretty badly written in that it is completley biased and opinionated relying on no solid reasons why the album is bad.
The album does its job which is to provide a good time, and leave you singing the songs for a long time after. This Message Edited On 06.12.06

And how can Dave be the ultimate showman on record? The only thing he was showing was his terrible voice.

"Slippery When Wet"
No Shit

I think it was a promotional plan for Slip n' Slides.

Livin on a prayer rocks your hair
The Ritchie Sambora Talkbox at the beggining is the single greatest part of music history...
No...
The single greatest thing ever done by anyone.

I'm a huge fan of the "80's era". This album was but a tiny, tiny part of it. Not significant whatsoever.

I can agree with all but the very last sentence.
More like 'down and quite clean, really, on reflection'
I don't think so. I think that started with 1984 and got worse. They had a strong image early on. Before MTV and video took over. And those first two records sound great. This stuff isn't even in the same ballpark on any level.
And how can Dave be the ultimate showman on record? The only thing he was showing was his terrible voice.
I meant his personality came through. Even on record. Whereas Sammy had no personality at all. And his voice is fine. Perfectly suited for these records.

Sounds like a Bon Jovi video idea. Have the guys slip n' sliding with innocent children!

This album is awesome. You cannot seriously tell me that when a Bon Jovi Track comes on the Radio your not singing along, your not tapping your feeting, playing air guitar (or guitar, which ever floats ya boat). You don't try you hardest to scream out "WOOOOOOOO, LIVIN' ON A PRAYER" or try to back up Richie "WANTED". Come on, some of you may not be Jovi fans but you cannot deny that you will at least find yourself annoyed at the fact that you simply cannot turn it off or over.
ROCK ON JOVI.
Alongside Metallica they are the best band i've ever seen live (completely different genres i know)

I think too many people dislike things that aren't serious enough these days. When did pop become a bad thing? Also, you can't really talk about the relevancy of the riffs and the songwriting when you are reviewing the album 20 years after it's release. I respect your opinion, but you should refer back to it's release date.

i personally think this is a great album.. and io was surprized to see how many people disliked this album
