I had to paint that upward of 7 times...
|
| |
lol damn that's gotta be exhaustive
for school?
|
| |
7 times re-painting the same piece? I would have questioned my sanity at the sixth iteration.

Saw that before it was sold. Amazing work. The picture doesn't do it justice... it has a radiance that makes it almost glowing.
Bacon was an excellent artist.

Lol yeah I wouldn’t do that in any other circumstance
I had to paint it in different colours every time, and I’d lost the will to live by the time I finished the 5th one

It’s surprising how doing some extra practice in free time can help you. I used to get made fun of in year 7-8 for being shit at art, then I practiced sketches and shit in my free time, then in year 9 I got the second highest score in the class for a still life sketch test. From then I kept practicing and held my own.

I can hardly draw a cube so no way I could do anything like this.
|
| |
I do love art though.
|

Late 19th, early 20th century has some of the best artists ever. It's my girlfriend's favorite period so I have the most exposure to it.
Saw this Manet two weeks ago. Brilliant work.
