i just remember the lead singer being obnoxious and high as fuck between songs, otherwise being obnoxious during the actual songs and yeah nah, the vocals just did not work, they were just terrible, also pretty sure the mixing was way off.
This was directly after seeing Dillinger, Mastodon and Meshuggah all in a couple hours so maybe the benchmark was too high (the mastodon vocals live were actually good hahhahah), but i vowed to myself i would not listen to clowns after that experience as a lil prepubescent bitchtit. Also i think when you see an abrasive metal band live and dont know any songs, its hard not to judge them extra critically

The only gripe I have with this record really is that Trevor's vocals seem to be a little bit buried underneath the guitars, but it's a pretty minor gripe.

That's weird because I think Trevor is usually more prominent in the mix than needed.
His screams are high and nearly constant through most tracks.

That it does, this might be better than Nocturnal

this isn't too bad for metalcore..
...will forever be confused by that one. I mean I guess if you listened to their EP there's some breakdowns, but through Nocturnal people were still calling these dudes metalcore.

2nd half is the best half for me. I really enjoy Catacomb Hecatomb and The Lonely Deceased. Both of those songs rip hard.

> this isn't too bad for metalcore..
Maybe some of their earlier albums, but these guys are pretty far away from Metalcore for me...

Holy shit I am so excited for this.
I love the shit out of Nocturnal.

average higher than nocturnal? interest officially peaked will check rn

First half was underwhelming to me, second half saved it. I'll need to listen to this more to finalize a rating but this doesn't touch Nocturnal or even Unhallowed.

it's a good album, but i dunno why this and abysmal were just by the numbers tbdm tracks rather than all the variation everblack had. i mean that album jumped all over between groovy chuggy shit, old school death metal, melodic death metal, blackened stuff, etc and these last two albums are just the same melodicish death metal the whole way through

Never actually listened to this band yet I've heard about them constantly over the years. Never understood why. Guess I'll check out Nocturnal first before this.

Everblack is definitely one of their best albums, but I love the thrashy tinged MDM that this has, and the solos slay
