Tattooed In Reverse sounds nothing like an Imagine Dragons song, yeah. Is it because of the heavy drums?
Really good album though, SAY10 is a sick song. He's got a handful of surprisingly dancy tracks too.

It may have been due to the drums, but I listened at like 5am this morning. I'm not hearing it anymore. My ears must've been playing tricks on me. Or, it IS Manson, so maybe it was

Sonically, i think it delivers. It sounds like something that could have been released during his 90's catalogue, and that's something i've wanted for years. But god the lyrics are so bad.

His 90s shit decimates this

"it would be an album reflective of the past than one which pushed creative boundaries."
Try 'more reflective' or 'rather than.'
Good review.

I really don't think Manson takes himself that seriously.
He's almost always sarcastic in any interview he gives these days. He may have carried himself more seriously earlier in his career but he's always had a decent sense of humor.

Yeah, I agree. I totally admire the guy who once was the Antichrist for ending an album on something as cheesy, fragile, human and anti-badass as "I like you dammit."

Pretty much sums up my thoughts and feelings about the album!

Lyrical quality of Manson's albums has always been hit or miss. Pale Emperor was actually quite good lyrically. Then this was just a nosedive but it doesn't really bother me, especially with the Golden Age of Grotesque vibes and that's one of my fav albums by him too

Golden Age had some good lyrics man. Eat Me is when Manson took a nosedive, and not only in the lyrical department. I can't be the only one for whom Golden Age resonated...

Golden Age is a hodgepodge lyrically, but especially compared to the albums that came before it, they weren't his best stuff. But even then, they suited the themes of rock n roll/pop star excess well enough. I actually like GAoG a lot more than this album and I have a certain fondness of it due to it being the album thay blew out the bass in my car and broke its left speaker. Not to mention it has my top 2 Manson songs on there, the title track and Vodevil.

That's so weird, those are literally my least 2 favs on that album and I love that one. Spade and Doll-Dagga-Buzz are especially fun, so many great lines. Kaboom is really cool too. Album is really on the the nose but that's it's charm. Para-noir is god tier

John's solo on Paranoir is epic. Dude was such an underused asset in Manson's albums when he was still in the line up. The fact that the solo on that song was improvised while Manson blind folded him amazes me.

Skold's solos are also the best part of Eat Me Drink Me. Always bothered me that he ended up letting Skold off the leash like that yet bullied John 5 into submission creatively.

Art knows I don't like the lyrics for Golden Age... Glad to see someone else shares my opinion, TVC15. The start of his decline for sure, despite the fact Golden Age's music and production is fucking amazing.

It was a step down from triptych for sure, no one is arguing that. Still a really solid release, on par with Pale Emperor for me. Everything in between is kind of filler.

I actually rate GAoG higher than Pale Emperor... But mind you there both rated highly anyway.
I actually really like Eat Me Drink Me. I think he hit a slump from the run between High End of Low and Born Villain but otherwise I think he has an extremely solid discography

This. Though BV was much, much better than HEOL. But I'd definitely pick this over those two albums in a heartbeat.

Does him looking like Data from Next Generation mean Brian's had an off switch fitted?
Cos someone should press it now.
And leave it pressed.
