Good review, Con. Couldn't ever get into these guys for some reason, but maybe I'll give this a shot.

Good review, probably good album. The world isn't so beautiful anymore however, or so the band says.

This grew on me. Has 2 of my favorite songs of theirs in general and the ones I initially thought were weak have at least become decent in my mind. It's no Harmlessness, but it's a very good record.

no way does this turn into a 5 though -- it's significantly below Harmlessness. A 4 is higher than I thought I'd score this already.

Yeah, Harmlessness and Whenever, If Ever, are both better than this, but this is still one of my favorite releases this year. No 5, for sure, but I just want that last 1:30 at the end of "Faker" to go on forever.

^exactly. that's been my favorite track so far, and a top 5 TWIABP song overall. from the point where he says "if there is a hell, it's ready and waiting for you" and on is sheer perfection

good review re the music. lyrically i think it's a somewhat over the top to say "it’s clear to see that the band has abandoned taking the high road as their egregiously counter-productive viewpoints hinder the album’s legitimacy"

i'm not sure bipartisanship or "taking the high road" has done all that much demonstrative good in this country. indeed many of the victories have been the type of aggressive tactics you seem to be deriding. it's fine to have those opinions, but imo doesn't square with a lot of history

@bonjohh appreciate you taking the time to comment/make an account(??) for this review. that comment is specifically a bit over the top but it was never meant to be applied to anything more general than the band/album. aka I'm not saying that aggressive tactics are good or bad or successful historically but the specific lyrics/mindset is really what I take issue with. hope that helps!
