I get people don't like les claypool's voice but I think it adds a lot of charm to primus and people who complain about him on here are silly as the vocals here are fairly sparse. But my favorites are The Scheme, The Treck and The Storm (especially the last like 2 minutes of this one). The way The Storm closes instrumentally is fucking awesome.

The demented ringmaster voice unfortunately doesn't work for me.

According to the liner notes the narrator in The Valley is Justin Chancellor from Tool

This must've been a cool experience for them making the LP, but it's their weakest work so far. I wish they released a "normal" album like Green Naugahyde

they played this in its entirety during their live set last night, and it wasn't that bad. kinda drags on for a bit at times but paired with the visuals and live atmosphere it was overall pretty enjoyable

I just revisited it and man, it is soporific.

In the opening of a radio program I listen regularly they talk about the band that Les made with Copeland, it's pretty cool

I agree, maybe Les is not going to make it into the ranking of the best singers in rock any time soon but he would definitely make it into "singers with a unique voice"

Gotta say, after seeing them perform this in it's entirety, the studio version doesn't do it justice.
