Do not get the appeal of this band whatsoever. They bore the living shit out of me.
They kind of sound like Misery Signals if Misery Signals sucked.

"They kind of sound like Misery Signals if Misery Signals sucked."
That's flat out fucking ridiculous, Hawks. Counterparts literally tops the canadian melodic hardcore list at this point. You're entitled to your opinion, but hard facts outweigh it. They get more and more recognition as a band every year, and tour with some of the biggest names in hardcore/metalcore nowadays. Not to mention that they've never diluted their sound, and their albums, while sounding somewhat similar to an untrained ear, are consistent as fuck and show a diversification of sound that few bands of their stature achieve in a career let alone a decade.
Misery Signals rules, but these guys are pretty much right up there with them, and they're lining up to set the bar.

This band has escaped the shadow of Misery Signals in terms of sounds so seeing people still act like they're Misery Signals copycats is retarded.

They're consistently boring as fuck bro that's about the only consistency I can see with these guys. It may be a fact that a lot of people love them and they get a ton of recognition and all that shit but doesn't change how I feel about them lol.
I tried to like these guys, they just do nothing for me.

Misery Signals vocalist has a much lower range whilst Brendan Murphy's is generally higher as well as the band as a whole being much more influenced by modern post hardcore/metalcore than Misery Signals.

And they haven't escaped the shadow of Misery Signals in my mind just based on the fact that I love Misery Signals and think these guys blow huge hippo dicks. Just my opinion though of course and I respect your opinions.

Nah it's fine I don't care if you don't like them but like calling them shitty Misery Signals is just wrong haha

That's fine, just stop saying they're a shitty version of misery signals. It's inaccurate and makes you sound like you have no idea what you're talking about, which I'm fairly certain is untrue.

The sole comparison is melody and hardcore.

And a lot of rhythmic changes I guess.
You're pretty defensive about this band I take it?

"And a lot of rhythmic changes I guess."
I would consider that a trait of melodic hardcore.
"You're pretty defensive about this band I take it?"
Sure, I guess. Although Im in the minority of thinking TWFU is among their worst. They're just extremely honest, genuine artists. Don't come across that a ton in metalcore. They deserve the recognition they're getting, and calling them shitty misery signals is just straight-up nonsensical.
