It pains me to say that some of the stuff he's previewed on instagram is kind of just a little bit sorta good. I'd like if he made a more indie rock album that his next project is seeming to lean towards

but the thing is that song (along with any of the other songs with a beat behind it) only works on the strength of the beat/sample, because he still can't write lyrics to save his life. if you actually read thru his lyrics for that song they feel incredibly scattershot and surface-level/shallow.

that's v true, especially considering various contexts surrounding the album's themes. poorly-written or not, still a telling snapshot of his character worth getting into
so whether you think he's really a tortured soul or a piece o' shit feigning his way to winning sympathy, he kinda unintentionally lets you make the call lol
