Yes yes yes 451 is a jam

451 has a banging chorus for sure but the verses aren't a high point

Been skipping 451 since the day after release. Might have to try it again.

451 is one of the best songs on the album. It just rocks. I love the energy.

the lyrics in the verses are probably some of the worst they've penned since yfw but MAN that chorus goes hard

I'm appreciating my least favorite songs on here more than I did initially. Lit Me Up is such a dark and contemplative beginning that the more throwback sound of Can't Get it Out is needed afterwards, then the amazing 6 song run can follow. I love how well constructed and musically diverse this is.

Pretty random album title, but somehow did not seem abrasive from them at all

Oh, I have just realized that the title makes little sense actually. How do you understand it?
And btw has anyone seen this news; http://www.altpress.com/news/entry/brand_new_fan_countdown_reddit

I find overall this strikes me as less mature than TDAG/Daisy from a songwriting perspective. There's a lot of stuff here I can enjoy as a fan that more objectively I feel falls flat (chorus of Waste, all of Can't Get it Out/No Control/Desert, verses of 451), etc. Same Logic is probably the worst offender, I know people like it but I can't stand it, even as a fan.
Lit Me Up, 137, Batter Up hold up with their best songs and I enjoy Out of Mana a lot as well.

hm I wonder what happens November 6th....a new music video? A tour announcement? The day they officially break up? A surprise bonus album of all their extra songs?

Well maybe that is the point. Instead of some kind of over intellectualized fight with yourself they he has just accepted it. And when one wants to call this immature, he may, though for me it is just the opposite.

A group suicide? UFO with tom Delong on board coming? I wish I knew. But honestly I am not sure if I understood the whole story, and why anyone cares about some reddit fan theory.

i read the brand new countdown was fake

I, like millions of others, always wondered how Nirvana would've sounded like if Cobain was still around. I think this album might be the best answer we're ever gonna get.

I'm wondering that, if the countdown means anything to begin with, it has anything to do with the demos. I know they remastered them last year, but then they re-wrote Brother's Song, 1996, and Missing You for the "3 Demos, Reworked" EP. It was around that time that it was either typed out on their bandcamp page or Lacey was quoted, can't really recall, that "it will all make sense in the end." Could have just been blowing smoke but perhaps they revisit the demos for a full re-imagining and re-recording in the style of those reworked demos from the EP, giving us an official recording of Nobody Moves, Good Man, Battalions, etc.
I very much doubt all that, but just speculating based on an unfulfilled promise from last year.

He’s sitting on a so-called Soccer Sofa
On a Saturday morning
Having the so-called banter with the Preston
Touching base with fellow guest Heston
How cool does he appear?
And how cool is his career?
He’s gonna talk about his songs
And his favourite footy teams
That’s England, Chelsea, Accy Stanley
“And all the band love watching Barça”
But then, disastrously
They ask him casually
“You come from Leigh-On-Sea,
Do you ever get to Roots Hall?”
Which to him means fuck all

I have no doubt whatsoever it’d be right up there with Nirvana.
