While I think you make fantastic statements Johnny you might be ripping him apart more than he deserves, however true.

comparing, not equating tristan. thanks for the other comments though; might edit later on

Yeah dude if you are going to write a review for a band this huge DEFINITELY mull over it. Not gonna lie i'd be so fucking anxious trying to review this lol.

and even before i joined sput i considered Brand New a fairly renowned and "classic" band by my standards just because they're really big down here in my area, and my teacher introduced them to me as gods, so that's how i took them. or at least at the time, if that makes sense

so is this actually worth the hype or is this just a routine sputnik sploodge

"Yeah Brand New are pretty huge outside of sput dont listen to Johnny"
like i said they are popular but the "certifiable classic" designation always seemed very sput-y to me. they are def a sput band imo
"comparing, not equating tristan"
a juvenile equation comparison* then.
not trying to come down too hard, but what can i say it's the first review for one of the most hyped albums in a long time here so the stakes are high bish

I'm a little offended by you calling the demons demos irrelevant, but other than that, this review is beautiful as usual man. Amazing you were able to gather your thoughts so quickly. I'll eventually give this a write up, but idk if I'll post it here because by that point it'll already have 20 5 reviews saying the same things.

"HOLY FUCK THIS IS A 5 , NO WAIT THIS IS BEST BRAND NEW ALBUM OF ALL TIME, NO WAIT THIS IS THE BEST ALBUM OF ALL TIME", as tcat84 would say, if definitely a little premature I think.
We at least need to sleep on it for a night, no? lol

"Of course, calling this the greatest piece of music would be a major overstatement, and a bit preemptive, yet the individuality and uniqueness it showcases is unparalleled by any other record I’ve heard in my life."
jfc
the review is fine and dandy but this album is drawing so much unmerited hyperbole that its making me a little nauseous
|
| |
i mean snake, i'm not really as huge into brand new as much as the rest of sput (or at east not anymore) but this album blows their discography out of the water for the most part imo

I agree and disagree with the statement that BN is a Sput band. Everybody who I've met who hasn't just heard Sic Gloria is a super serious, sput-level fan, but those people are few and far between

Could Never Be Heaven through to Desert is such a damn good run. Desert especially will be underrated by a lot of people I reckon
No Control and Can't Get It Out are definitely the weakest for me, but with this kind of having a career retrospective vibe they definitely needed some Deja-esque songs like those two
still salty about no Sealed to Me
