i didn't say the design was intelligent, just irreducibly complex

"both this and st anger are fun to discuss because of how disastrous they are"
confession i don't think i've ever heard a full metallica album from start to finish
edit: also, when i was a kid i had a nightmare about the kill 'em all cover

i don't feel like you would like them very much
st anger is an interesting experience though, the most baffling production have heard in a professional music album

i wish the title track was on a better album, its such a good song. Put Your Money On Me/Maybe We Dont Deserve Love too. only reasons i dont have this rated lower.

i always liked Reflektor, but this album is like a spit in the face. its like they took all the wrong lessons from that album and the cringe fake corporate bull skittered about just makes it all the worse.

Creature Comfort is ace. And there are 3 or 4 other good songs. Rest is trash.

For what it's worth, I don't think this album is a complete disaster. I'm surprised how much I actually enjoyed it to be fair. The title track (the actual one, I know there's like 5 of them) is pretty nice as an easy listening song, Peter Pan is catchy, so is Chemistry. Found myself vibing to Electric Blue and the finale of We Don't Deserve Love actually hit the feels a bit. Sure there's some tripe too, Win's inflections on Signs of Life are unforgivably cringe, can't lie about that. But the album isn't terrible, just average in every sense of the word.
