Show was awesome. The new stuff has a completely different vibe live than all of their other stuff though, more quiet and dark, but I felt the band did a great job balancing it. They sounded MUCH better than the festival performance I saw them at right after Cope came out. At one point Andy just before going into another songs goes "Wait one second, hey Warped Tour, yeah you guys up here in the front. This ones gunna be bit slower, so just enjoy it and don't mosh." which I thought was pretty hilarious.
Tiger Jaw was good but nothing super special. Foxing was awesome and I highly recommend seeing them. They are much better live than on record and thats saying quite a bit because their albums are pretty strong.

I've seen Manchester a handful of times and they are usually pretty solid. Sometimes Andy gets so into the performance that the sound quality and vocals suffer a bit.
Foxing are fantastic live. Saw them open for mewithoutyou and was impressed.

I think the only albums that make me do that are my personal top 3.
Depends on my mood tho, I could bawl my eyes out to weird stuff if I'm in a bad spot

You could say that about The Parts IMO but not The Silence - that song is one of their very best. This has become (probably) my #2 AOTY. Even though there are stronger releases out there (namely Gangs of Youth and Fleet Foxes in the context of my personal top 5), no album has connected with me on the emotional level that this has...not even Science Fiction tbh.

it's headcanon for me that "the only obvious equation" in The Grocery and "Simple Math" are related
also The Parts is beautiful...

Lyrics aren't usually significant for me, but they really hit the mark here. The Silence gives me chills.

the first half of The Silence doesn't quite pull me in but when the song reaches its close it truly becomes something special. Haven't heard Like a Virgin yet but I'd handily say it's MO's best closer

I would go as far as to say the last minute of The Silence is one of the best closing moments this year.
"That was something your father had burned in me
Twenty hours out of Homestake eternity
"You can go anywhere but you are where you came from"
Man...
