yeah so if it's about him it's personal right? aka something that doesn't need to be announced. aka stop thinking about it so much and listen to the music

obviously you're not

"yeah so if it's about him it's personal right? aka something that doesn't need to be announced. aka stop thinking about it so much and listen to the music"
straight people still believe sexuality isn't a relevant thing now, and that having no representation shouldn't matter

it's been a constant in media, gay people having to hide and have nothing more than rumors to be themselves, even now it's like that. gay people are sick of it; they want others to come out clearly because they care and are sick of hiding, that's why they ask. we still have gay people having to hide to have a career, some have others come out for them post-mortum

you don't get it, but i guess you don't have to. you don't have to like it, but you're also not part of the community

it isn't though. you've said multiple times that it's not relevant, that it doesn't matter and that people shouldn't ask things
having to go through hoops to come out and not be explicit in anything still is a thing, but yes you don't get it. again, it's a straight person not knowing why representation matters and not caring

Frank Ocean did the same thing with his debut, but then wrote that letter on Tumblr.

I think this one might stay up in the air though. Doubt Tyler will announce it clearly, being him.

[2] everything asdf posted

i don't give a fuck if tyler's a homo or not but i'm tired of comments saying how deep of a discourse and reflection on his sexual identity this is. it's not. it's oblique and vague and nondescript and all the gays are asking for is more musicians to see ourselves in. if you were gay con you'd probably get it but when only a minuscule fraction of music conveys a gay perspective it makes it extremely personal

yeah was about to say didn't Frank do the same thing? you can claim what i get and what i don't get all you want but one thing i do understand is what this album is about and if that's not good enough or explicit enough for others then so be it. tyler is his own person going through shit none of us will understand so don't blame him or the album for not being the coming out ceremony you wanted.

girl i don't want it to be a damn thing like tyler can do whatever the fuck he pleases BUT do not tell me this is some masterful gay emotive coming out because it is still so unclear and indecisive it's not fair to say either way. also frank ocean is a whole ballgame itself so unless you want more fag rage from me i'd probably just leave it at that for now

i think we are at a stalemate so i'll just say this. the beauty of lyrics to me at least is how they can be interpreted different ways by different people. to me, it's pretty clear what he's saying but obviously to others with different perspectives than me it isn't clear. so if you interpreted the lyrics in a different way that doesn't point to him being explicitly gay then that's your interpretation and it's completely fine for you to criticize the album or lyrics because of it.

i'm mostly just explaining why gay people are so insistent asking about it, since straight people like chastising us for wondering and wanting representation and wanting freedom for artists to come out

so yeah my interpretation is that this is his coming out album. you guys obviously think differently. we were both in the wrong by stating things like facts. you think it's too ambiguous and I think it's pretty clear. end of discussion
