Someone very dear to me bought this CD a few days ago, and I got a taste of it too.

First contact with the band here (in terms of an official release, that is), and my lasting impression was it was kind of "flat", as far as domestic listens go.

That said, I suspect their albums are far more interesting.

nah man just get the albums. each album has its own unique sound so this "best of" wont make much sense imo

I disagree. If you don't like the singles, don't bother with the rest of the band.

I never get the point of buying greatest hits albums unless they contain a bunch of unreleased songs but otherwise, it's money wasted.

(I only own STP's thank you, soundgarden's a-sides and smashing pumpkins rotten apples)

It's not that I don't like Rammstein's music, I think that it works infinitely better in the context of a live concert or a night club playing "mainstream" industrial.

Great review.. band are incredibly fun live, but on record, they are an enduring novelty act more than anything to me.. spiritual Pos!

With strippers? thanks but no thanks, that's why I choose the gigs of pantera before motley crue's or rammstein's.

I don't trust chicks who listens to rammstein...or motley crue

zak said it best, stereotypical 'metal chicks' or whatever you want to call them age the worst and aren't what they're cracked up to be

"I disagree. If you don't like the singles, don't bother with the rest of the band."

wrong, they have a fair share of weird experimental songs.

fuck's sake their debut album had this weird almost blackgaze kinda song on it

Mutter and Sehnsucht have some excellent deep cuts, it'd be a crime to write them off just because you didn't like the singles.

I'd say if you don't enjoy anything from the album Mutter this band just isn't for you. It's their most accessible record imo.
