because honestly him over J Cole as one of "the best new school rappers". JID by far the best Dreamville Signing.
the beat selection on this album just makes it so much more amazing though.
plus this guy has an amazing flow too, very versatile
hell he can even sing well

Between him and Earthgang J Cole has signed some of the most exciting newer artists in hip hop for sure.

It's pretty odd, but true. J. Cole is the living epitome of boring hip hop, however he does seem to have an ear for rap. J.I.D and Earthgang are definitely some of the most interesting young talent in the genre.
Still doesn't make sense why Cole makes NyQuil rap tho
BTW: Anyone that hasn't listened to Up by Earthgang yet, do yourself a favor and peep it.

There’s nothing as good as NEVER on DiCaprio 2, but it’s nonetheless a much more consistent project than this. I tend to get bored and tune out during certain stretches here, but that’s not really a problem on DC2.
