I can't say "Shadow of the Day" is a top 10 Linkin Park song. Sure it was decent, but that's just it. The song was good and far from great. Although it has a good story (a hero giving up), the lyrics aren't as investing as "Leave Out all the Rest" nor do they carry the same weight. To be honest, the track "One More Light" is far superior than "Shadow of the Day" in that regard. However, that's just my opinion, but there is no denying "One More Light" was one of Linkin Park's most genuine ballads in their discography.

Damn, and here I was having just checked out In Between and thinking I need to listen to more deep cuts. I've loved Shadowof the Day for years. Maybe I just have a thing for their ballads. Growing up I didn't like the big singles by LP but I've come around on them recently.
