Mike's rapping sounds the best when it is fast and intense, not super slow and overly enunciated like in Hybrid Theory in my opinion.

Yeah, Genius Bar slaps, even if Mike sounds like a cross between Aesop Rock and Unkle Adams

Damn relistening to this almost none of it holds up for me but damn in pieces is really solid. And the lyrics are actually really good. Chester was such a good singer

Man maybe I’m just being sentimental tonight but saying “Chester was” is just too sad

"still convinced everyone rating this over 3.5 is in on some prank"
I 4.5'd this in high school but coming back to it now.... there's some good stuff

Leave Out All The Rest hits so much harder now.

It always hit hard

Agree. Was Minutes to Midnight the most controversial LP album to ever come out? Hybrid Theory, Meteora, and The Hunting Party all were generally well-received while this, A Thousand Suns, Living Things, and One More Light all had much more mixed reviews/reception.

This one did cause quite a stir for LP fans

I've said this before on this thread, but the only thing that I don't really like about the album is the tracklist order. Way too frontloaded with singles which makes the second half awkward and I don't like No More Sorrow being in the second half, it feels really misplaced there.
Strange. I think the opposite. First half is pumped, energetic and angry, while the second half is more brooding, slow, reflective and emotional.
Given up is still a sweet sweet tune.
Hell yeah, one of their best songs.

Though, goblinilbog, I gotta say that looks like a damn good reshuffling of the track list. Intriguing. Having What I’ve Done as the penultimate song that bleeds into The Little Things is actually pretty brilliant.

Given Up, Leave Out All the Rest and In Pieces are the top 3 songs, in that order. I would probably put What I’ve Done next, then The Little Things, Shadow/Bleed

Thanks Lark. I've always liked albums where the tracklist consistently alternates between the more accessible/single type songs and the deeper cuts, keeps my attention better that way.
Yeah I'm a sucker for the longest song of an album being the last track, especially one as epic as Little Things.

this album has one of the worst flowing tracklists of all time but the music itself is mostly really great

Ending your album with the two best tracks after filtering everyone halfway through with an abhorrently arranged track list is such a bold move

Bleed it Out an all-time jam in the honda civic tho
