Hahaha a friend of mine confused these guys with Vital Remains when he was talking about metalcore.

This is blowing my mind. How can a band be content releasing such mediocre albums??

This album sucks solely for that pathetic country song, "Back to You."

the worst thing is that they will probably have another album out in less than 12 months

This just makes me sad. I didn't even know ATR was still making music until I had the sudden urge to hear "The Weak Willed" from Fall of Ideals album today. Now they've become The Weak Willy. I think it was their aesthetic that attracted myself initially. Had an ancient, forbidding appeal (Fall of Ideals still one of my fav album covers). They always did lack story telling or any insightful meaning beyond metalcore's cliches though, so only matter of time. Surprised they lasted this long.

yeah even this has a few moments I dug, and it'd be a 2.5 if not for that FUCK-AWFUL country ballad near the end. Not the cover, that's actually not terrible.

Been revisiting albums I rated very poorly years ago. I originally gave this a 1 based off the fact that "oh its not metalcore anymore boohoo" but I've made my peace with this band not being metalcore anymore, and I happen to have a soft spot for shitty dad radio butt rock. Is this The Fall of Ideals? No way. It probably has 2 riffs, but it has great choruses and it's fun. Is it great even? No. But it's fine. Definitely more than a one.
