I like where Saturnz Barz is because it sets up the mood and purpose pretty easily

A lot of the track listings and segues are questionable, like between the last two songs and making the interludes their own tracks.
Ascension does seem pretty incomplete, especially on its own. I feel like this is really meant to be listened to as a complete experience, because a lot of the songs are underwhelming by themselves.

Yeah it's awful haha, I stop the song after the female vocals end.

I love Danny but he can so easily cross the line into unlistenable
Kelela kills it so hard tho so she makes up for it

Busted and blue is a total slog wtf lol. I have the album that leaked a few days prior to the release, but the quality is pretty good tbh. I sincerely doubt I'd like it any more on the highest quality

Is that that weird bleepy vocal sound that recurs on the album and is at the beginning 3 times at let me out?

yep, it's in Ascension and Let Me Out as far as I can tell
"i'm finna turn obama to my partner 'fore he dash"
and
"Obama is gone, who is left to save us? So together we mourn, I'm prayin for my neighbours, they say the devil's at work and Trump is calling favours."

Why were those lyrics censored? I didn't notice either

Damon censored them because he didn't want to "give anymore fame to the most famous man in the world".
It would probably also mean the album ages a little more gracefully

Nothing dates an album to 2017 faster than censoring the names of politicians

why even record those lyrics in the first place then

but I think the point is that this album isn't about Donald Trump, so by censoring the names of politicians, you could imagine a similar scenario that doesn't necessarily have to have involved those specific politicians

"why even record those lyrics in the first place then"
back when this album was recorded, everyone still thought the idea of Trump winning the election was laughable

Yes and makes it more ambiguous and open to alternatives also the censor sound itself is just great
